Landscaping quote examples
Follow up a landscaping quote with a useful question
A landscape total can hide several different decisions: hardscape, planting, access, excavation, disposal, irrigation, materials, staging, and timing. Help the customer identify the unresolved part instead of sending another generic nudge.
First SMS: confirm the quote arrived
Do not repeat the whole design or price in an SMS. The first job is to confirm delivery and open a clear route for questions.
Email: ask which part needs a decision
When the customer is comparing landscaping quotes
Only mention work actually included in the written quote. A lower total may reflect a different area, plant size, material, preparation depth, disposal allowance, or scope; it may also simply be another provider’s price. Ask for the specific point instead of guessing.
When the total is outside the budget
Do not reduce preparation, drainage, structural work, safe access, or another necessary element without explaining the consequence and confirming that the revised option remains appropriate. Some work should not be cut.
Before you mention a start date
Check current labour, material and plant availability, access requirements, approvals, utility information, and any genuine weather dependency. Describe availability as current and subject to confirmation unless the customer already has a written reservation. Do not invent another booking or pretend a date is held.
