For plumbing businesses

Follow up the plumbing quote with useful detail.

A good plumbing follow-up helps the customer compare the actual job: scope, fixtures, access, timing, and what happens if site conditions differ. It does not just ask whether they “had a chance to look”.

First check: did the quote arrive?

Hi [First name], [Your name] from [Business] here. I sent the quote for [job] on [day]. Could you let me know it arrived? Happy to clarify the included fixtures, access assumptions, or timing.

This message has one job: confirm delivery. Do not add a discount or false booking deadline simply to force a reply.

Second check: make comparison easier

Hi [First name], just checking whether any part of the [job] quote needs more detail. If you are comparing options, I can clarify what is included, excluded, or allowed for so you can compare like with like.

Plumbing quotes can differ because the scope differs. Point the customer toward the written inclusions and exclusions rather than criticising another provider or guessing why their price is different.

When availability has genuinely changed

Hi [First name], a quick update on the [job] quote: I currently have [real availability]. If that timing suits, let me know and I can confirm the next step. If not, tell me what timing you are considering.

Only use a date you can honour. Ordinary scheduled work should not be presented as an emergency. If the customer reports an urgent safety issue, direct them to the appropriate urgent service rather than relying on a sales template.

Close the open quote

Hi [First name], I haven’t heard back, so I’ll close the [job] quote for now and won’t keep chasing. If you revisit it later, get back in touch and I can confirm current pricing and availability. [Your name]

Closing a stale quote keeps your pipeline honest and respects the customer’s attention. It also leaves a clear route back without implying the old price remains valid forever.
