For roofing businesses
Follow up a roofing quote with the scope and assumptions in plain view.
Roofing prices can cover different areas, materials, flashings, repairs, access equipment, removal, disposal, and warranties. A useful follow-up helps the customer compare the written scope. It should not exaggerate damage, predict a leak, or invent weather urgency to force a decision.
First check: confirm the quote arrived
If the document is missing, re-send it before adding more detail. Keep photos, inspection notes, and any assumptions connected to the same quote version.
Help the customer compare the scope
Point to your own scope rather than guessing what another roofer allowed. Clearly separate visible work from latent damage that could only be confirmed after removal, and explain how any variation would be approved.
Resolve material and access choices
Material profile, colour, roof access, fall protection, neighbour access, solar equipment, and occupied areas can change planning. Do not treat an informal text choice as approval of a changed contract.
State weather and scheduling honestly
A booking window is not a weather guarantee. Explain what is provisional, how the site will be left if conditions change, and whether material has actually been allocated.
Close the loop respectfully
This avoids implying that an old inspection, price, stock position, or schedule remains current indefinitely.
