ServiceM8 quote workflow · updated 5 August 2026
ServiceM8 quote follow-up templates: four useful touches, then stop.
ServiceM8’s Automation add-on can follow up a quote by email, SMS, or both. Although its documentation permits up to five follow-ups, a shorter finite sequence can cover receipt, questions, genuine timing, and closeout without endless chasing.
What ServiceM8 currently supports
ServiceM8 documents Quote Follow Up as a pre-built Automation add-on. You can customise timing and template messages, choose email and/or SMS, and configure up to five follow-ups. Its documentation says the automation runs while the job remains at the Quote stage and describes conditions under which a reply, quote acceptance, or status change cancels or pauses follow-up. SMS messages use ServiceM8 text credits.

A practical four-touch sequence
Use delays that suit the size and urgency of the actual job. Replace every bracketed field, keep SMS concise, and preview the channel-specific result inside ServiceM8 before turning the automation on.
1. Confirm receipt
2. Invite one useful question
3. Share only genuine timing or expiry information
Use only a date or availability window already supported by your quote and current schedule. Never turn a generic automation delay into an invented deadline, discount, or reserved slot.
4. Close the loop
Configure the stop rules before the copy
- Confirm how replies are detected for each channel you use.
- Confirm that acceptance and the job-status changes in your workflow stop the sequence as expected.
- Review any existing client conversation before restarting or manually sending another message.
- Test with an internal job before using the automation on a live quote.
ServiceM8 can automate delivery; QuoteChime only helps draft editable wording. Your business remains responsible for the recipients, facts, consent, timing, configuration, and final message.
